LM-10 iPhoneography and Lensbaby

The LM-10 Lensbaby for mobile photography has long since been discontinued but as an Ambassador for Lensbaby, I have reached out to the team with the suggestion of bringing back a redesigned mobile lens and breathing some new life into the program. Personally, I think it will be an even bigger success than the first venture given the popularity of Instagram now that wasn't there the first go around. Additionally, mobile phone cameras are so much more advanced now and the images we create are nothing short of beautiful. I know my iPhone 11 takes absolutly amazing photographs. If you're ever in doubt of what can be accomplished with your mobile phone, take a look at the IPPA awards. {just Google that and you'll get right to them} People are more interested in mobile photography than they've ever been. And that's exciting.

These four images were taken on an iPhone 6 with the LM-10 Lensbaby mobile lens. They had this funky app that went along with it as well. The process was a little cumbersome as you had to use the app to shoot with the accurate orientation. Without the app, the lens would mirror your image so that it was backwards and it was hard to visualize for an optimium shot. The app flipped the image so you could shoot easier. There was definitely a lot of work to be done on that process however, given how far we've come technically in so short a time, I have no doubt that the lens as well as the app could be so much better.

The lens was so much fun to shoot with on your phone. It attached itself to the camera lens with a magnetic strip and while I never had any problem with it staying on, I have read some reviews that it would fall off for some people. It was like having this very cool Lensbaby with you all the time and taking out your phone to create gorgeousness on the fly was just so great. I really miss it. These are some of my favorite images that I shot with the LM-10 however there are quite a few in my archives that I'm pretty crazy about. If they do breathe some new life into this lens and give us something fun to shoot with on our phones, know that I'll be sure and post it here with all the details.
