Sojourn
I spent the better part of the day yesterday rummaging through photos of all the yesterdays. It's such a lovely way to spend a cold Winter day. I was, as always when it happens, happy to find some older photos that stand up to my current standards that could be reworked even if just a tweak here or there, and shared once again.
These first three images were all taken with an iPhone 6. The first and third were taken using the Hipstamatic app and Tinto film which I absolutely adore. It provides that beautiful blur that is my signature and the tones are just amazing. The second photo was taken with the Slow Shutter app which enables that gorgeous soft water. These three were all taken from 2013 through 2016.
These last two photos were taken on a little point and shoot Sanyo which I loved. I shot literally thousands of photos on that camera. I still have it in a drawer somewhere and should absolutely charge it up and take it on a playdate soon. The bokeh and selective focus were incredible for a point and shoot camera from that time. I really enjoyed taking pictures with that little baby. These images were taken in 2012.
This last photo was actually my first sale. A gentleman in Paris, France bought it and another to make silk scarves of. At first I couldn't believe that someone wanted to purchase the photos and of course figured it to be a scam but I followed through protecting myself and not falling for the usual ploys and before I knew it, paid in full. I often wished I could have seen the scarves.
The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science. Whoever does not know it and can no longer wonder, no longer marvel, is as good as dead, and his eyes are dimmed.
