Holga Week

 

Holga Week is next week, Oct 1st through the 7th and like every year, I'm excited to be a part of it. Holgas are one of my favorite cameras to shoot with and on any day I might even say, my favorite.

I don't need a special week to shoot with my Holga clearly, but what a fun time of year when all of your friends and peers are all out shooting with and celebrating this beautiful little camera.

 

I took these four photos in 2011 and they are still some of my favorite Holga prints ever.  I love the beautiful softness on the horses, it's as if they are from a dream. This one above, almost has a painterly feel to it, to me. The double exposure below was a simple accident that the Universe decided I needed and became a perfect pairing of fallen leaves and a bare tree. I couldn't have planned it any better than this serendiptious image. I'm shooting with expired color film this year so here's to more serendipty and more magic.
